The rocks are literally in the middle of the desert and it can get very hot out there in the middle of the day – and there’s no shade around the installation itself. This is even more amazing when you discover that the work cost $3.5 million to build. Originally, they were literally just some coloured rocks near Vegas with no explanation or information at the site, but now there are signs explaining the artwork and you can also call a local number which gives you a guided tour by cellphone which is pretty cool.
